Conservation Volunteers Australia offers a range of programs for local volunteers. These projects range from one day local environmental projects through to two week expeditions to remote outback locations. Volunteering is a great way to have fun and meet new people while maintaining and protecting your local environment in Australia.

Better Earth

Better Earth is the award winning program CVA has managed for more than 20 years

Better Earth involves managed teams of managed volunteers on conservation projects across Australia.

Better Earth projects can be a program of ongoing activities or one off projects. The duration and timing of each project is flexible, but the majority of projects run for five days Monday to Friday. We also have a popular program of single day projects on weekends. The program is developed to achieve your conservation priorities.

World Conservation

World Conservation Programs give you the opportunity to volunteer overseas with a local conservation organisation.

 

You will be volunteering on conservation and cultural projects in an environment quite unlike anything in Australia. Projects run for between  two to five weeks and with most projects you will be part of a team of volunteers.

 

Destinations include USA, Europe, Central America, South America & Africa.

 

The program price includes meals accommodation, project related

transport, program management fee, development fee, and part of the program price also includes contribution towards conservation programs here in Australia.

 

The program price does not include, airfares, travel and medical insurance, visas, vaccination related costs, airline and departure taxes, or passport related costs.

Nature Wise

With programs in pristine locations such as Montague Island, Outback Queensland and Tasmania's wilderness you can enjoy the opportunity to visit unique destinations, get close to nature and explore the great outdoors, while contributing to the conservation of the environment. 

Naturewise holiday destinations are chosen for their significant natural and cultural features. Each program provides an intimate experience with nature, a range of accommodation options, and personalised services with no more than 10 people on a program.

Training

CVA is a Registered Training Organisation.

CVA has extensive experience in managing volunteers in practical conservation tasks and provides training in the management of people in practical conservation tasks.  CVA delivers both accredited and non accredited training and trains both individuals and organisations.

Green Reserve

Join more than 1000 Green Reserve volunteers who volunteer two days a week on local conservation projects!

Green Reserve is an initiative of the Australian Government under Work for the Dole.

Types of projects include:

  • Surveying walking tracks through local parks and reserves
  • Restoring heritage buildings
  • Assisting with community gardens
  • Data collection and entry

There are Green Reserve projects across Australia and to join you simply need to be over 35 and receiving Newstart allowance.
