I’ve just started a Parallel Programming class at QUT. Our major assessment (worth 50%) is to manually parallelise some software.

I’m looking for something that:

• Is interesting
• Takes skill and effort
• Has some potential barriers
• Would be appreciated
• Is preferably open-source

Do you use any software could use a speed up? Do you have a project that could use some parallelisation?
